Project Management Training Needed For Improving Product Developement For Kids

by George H. Purdy

Project management training refers to practical, hands-on experience for project managers in learning the principles and practices that lead to effective and successful project management. It has traditionally revolved around the benefits of a set framework of principles and 'best practices' that are a part of effective project management. Modern management methodology moves beyond the classroom environment of set guidelines and promotes a climate of adaptability and the crucial habit of applying lessons learnt from past experience. The value of such training cannot be underestimated, as investments in project management training make measurable improvements to an organization's bottom line.

Project management training is results-oriented, which means that project managers must apply what they have learned about good project management to their own projects. This also gives the organization an opportunity to reward consistently excellent performance by project managers with bonuses and promotions tied to qualities which it is trying to foster. Building a rewards policy which looks at the application of project management training will encourage more and more project managers to put their newly-acquired knowledge to work.

Significant steps have been initiated by the organisations on implementing project management training. These organisations show varied levels of improvement in different business activities like satisfying their customers, production and the performance of the cost-schedule-requirements. Now a days a good project management tool consists of traditional training methods and new methods involving the trainees.

There are many software programs designed to help educate young children at home that have been developed and released. Later versions of these software programs often link their educational content to school coursework. These home educational software programs have often been strongly influenced by concepts in computer gaming : these programs are designed to be fun as well as educational. However, a distinction should be drawn between proper learning titles and software where the gaming aspect outweighs the software's educational value.

Software development for children is harder than it sounds. A kids' programmer needs to be a good programmer, but he or she also needs to be familiar with the needs of children determined by factors such as age and developmental stage, parental input and supervision, and the general environment in which the child is growing up. Furthermore, since children's attention span is limited, the software developer needs to strike a delicate balance between visuals and audio in order to keep the child engaged.

Some manufacturers regarded normal desktop computers as an inappropriate platform for learning software for kids and produced custom child-friendly pieces of hardware instead. The hardware and software is generally combined into a single product, such as a child-sized laptop-look-alike. These include imaginatively designed hand-held consoles with a variety of pluggable educational game cartridges and book-like electronic devices into which a variety of electronic books can be loaded. These products are more portable than laptop computers, and use special software to help the kids learn while having fun.

Project management training has, in the past, consisted of learning a set framework of principles, guidelines, and 'best practices' in effective project management. There are many software programs designed to help educate young children at home that have been developed and released. It might sound easy, but in real life developing kids software development is a complex process. It is a demonstrated fact that children have short attention spans and there has to be a good balance of audio-visual features to catch their attention. Some manufacturers believe that normal desktop computers are unsuitable platforms for children's learning software and instead produce good project management tool.
