Nintendo Wii Wins Hands Down Or Up

by Bruno Auger

Nintendo's Wii is a unique gaming device compared to their competitors' newest releases. Even though the video graphics aren't as advanced, the Wii console offers a distinctive gaming event that the competition cannot. The exclusive nunchuck interface lets you abandon just passively sitting on the sofa, for a fresh interactive experience. The controller senses movements of the hands and interprets them wirelessly into the action. Figures react to real movements rather than crazy button-hitting and key-clicking.

When you turn the consol on for the first time, your first action will be creating a Mii. A Mii is a video representation of you that will be used when playing games. Creating an image of yourself on the console will help you to become familiar with the controls and leave with a few laughs as you experiment with different facial features. During this process you will get a good sense of being part of the game.

Simplistic in nature, many people quickly adapt to the Nintendo Wii gaming system. Enjoyment of this system spans generations from young children to retirees. Occupants of retirement homes enjoy competitions and social interaction during Wii bowling tournaments. Children and their grandparents create new bonds through video gaming that were never thought possible. In the past, "Grandma" would never have attempted to play a video game, but today - you may not be able to pry her away from it.

Endless possibilities are available to video gamers utilizing the Wii gaming system. Shooters, scrollers, action, and role-playing games have been created to utilize the same console and controller. New designs may even trick a casual gamer into participating in interactive exercise. Physical therapists have utilized this new tool to motivate mobilization among people recovering from various maladies and accidents.

The reasonably priced console, its games, and other add-ons make it the perfect game station for a penny-pinching family. In comparison to its competition, the Wii may cost significantly less money, and offer amusement for the whole family. With the Wii appointed as Nintendo's chief gaming station in the near future, there's no need to worry about it becoming obsolete, which often happens with the majority of consumer electronics.

The interface of the Nintendo Wii also allows web surfing and downloading of classic games, allowing even more gaming options. The Wii is a flexible and unique offering in the console gaming world, opening the world of gaming back up to casual gamers who don't want to have to invest large amounts of time in a console, as well as to those who have never experienced electronic gaming.

Playing the Nintendo wii is very simple with only a few minute learning curve. It can easily be played by young children as well as the elderly, as has been shown in retirement home Wii bowling tournaments across the country. The interactive nature of the wii console allows generations of gamers to play together that were never possible before. Trying to convince your grandmother to play videos games was nearly impossible before the release of the Wii, whereas now, you may have trouble getting her to give up the controller.
